Maloney's On Main
Florin came to the United States in 1992 with $300 in his pocket. He settled in Matawan, NJ and worked full-time for a construction company. He then started his own property management company. He owned property in downtown Matawan and had purchased 119 Main Street as a renovation project. It had been a restaurant that was in business for 30 years, but then had a lot of turnover after that. As he struggled with getting the right tenant for the property, Florin and his wife, Meghan, decided they could open a restaurant themselves.
They had never been in the restaurant business before, but Florin is especially handy and motivated. He thrives on fixing things at the highest caliber, and his restaurant is proof of that. When they chose to open a restaurant with a very impressive craft beer selection, Florin went to work installing surgical-grade stainless steel lines in the tap to avoid the beer contamination that comes from standard vinyl lines. He also built his own custom refrigeration system.
Eleven years ago, Maloney’s on Main open its doors, just one day before Meghan gave birth to the couple’s second daughter. Today, Maloney’s is the premiere destination for craft beer lovers. They have more than 100 draft lines, serving seasonal craft beer and ciders, that they rotate every Friday. They also serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, along with brunch on Sundays.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is just as warm and friendly as its owners. “I believe in fostering relationships,” said Florin, who is very involved in the Matawan community, often donating food and resources to those in need.

Top Line Auto Care
Top Line Auto Care has been a family-owned business for sixty years. Harry’s dad started out as a gas attendant at a local Exxon Station in Sayreville. He then went on to own two Exxon stations. When he sold the franchises, he purchased a Shell station in South Amboy.
As Harry grew up, he always worked for his dad. From the age of 12, he worked hard over his school breaks and weekends, helping his dad at the gas stations. So, it only made sense that when his dad retired in 1989, Harry would take over the two-bay shop his dad owned in South Amboy.
Harry decided to focus the business on car repairs rather than gasoline. As the business grew, he moved to a larger facility in Keyport, and then moved again to a six-bay shop in his hometown of Sayreville, where they can now service six cars at one time. This vastly increased their overall volume and doubled the employee size. Today, Top Line Auto Care specializes in engines and transmissions, as well as fleet service truck repairs. They also specialize in Cadillacs.
Harry says his favorite part of the business is working with customers. He stays in touch with his customers, and they are loyal to Top Line Auto Care because his honest and quality approach to auto repair gives his clients a peace of mind that can be hard to find.
